Unified Studies:

A Day Unlike Any Other

Schedule:

  • School Year: Follows Alpine School District Calendar (September 2nd - May 8th)

  • Weekly Schedule: Monday-Thursday 11 am to 3 pm with Friday’s being reserved for outdoor exploration, activities and field trips

A World of Individualized Learning:

  • Student centered learning: We work with each student to create their own learning goals and schedule that are centered around Utah state standards per grade level. Group classes are crafted to enhance each students needs.

Adventure Awaits:

  • Outdoor Exploration: Our location near canyons and Utah Lake allows for hands-on learning:

    Hiking, backpacking, and cross-country skiing

    Orienteering (using compass & map)

    Nature journaling (capturing the environment)

Learning about geology, edible plants, wildlife conservation, and more!

Business Opportunities:

  • School business: Our students spend some time each week working on a business they start from scratch together to raise funds we use to help defray tuition costs and enable them to travel and pay for entrance fees to sites and locations that further their education.

Making a Difference:

  • Community Engagement & Service Learning: Students participate in purposeful service projects, contributing to a peaceful world.

Documenting the Journey:

  • Portfolio Building: Students track their projects, accomplishments, and learning experiences, creating a valuable asset for college applications and future endeavors.

Celebrating Achievements:

  • Showcase Nights (about every 6 weeks): Students get to share their learning journeys with families. These evenings might feature portfolio presentations, plays, or science experiments.

Parental Involvement:

  • We welcome parental involvement as long as all students feel comfortable. While not required, there may be instances where additional adult support is needed for field trips, etc.

The Unified Studies Difference:

A day at Unified Studies is a vibrant experience that goes beyond academics. It's a place where students are nurtured to be well-rounded individuals, equipped with not only academic knowledge but also emotional intelligence, social responsibility, and a deep connection to themselves, others, and the world around them.
